PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard rod body, a nightstick including the guard rod body and a truncheon including the guard rod body that are lighter than that of conventional ones and capable of maintaining a bending strength and an impact force even if the light weight formation is established.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a guard rod body 1 composed of a cylindrical rod body 2 and the inner wall of the rod body 2 is provided with a groove. This invention provides the guard rod body 1, a nightstick 4 with the rod body 2 and a truncheon with the rod body 2. The nightstick 4 comprises the rod body 2, a grip part 5 provided at one end of the rod body 2 and a flange part 6 provided between the grip part 5 and the rod body 2 and extending outside in a radial direction of the rod body 2. A top ball 7 is engaged in thread with the extremity end of the rod body 2 acting as one end side of the nightstick 4.
