PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish short-range wireless communication between apparatuses selected without complicated operation processing.SOLUTION: A short-range communication system comprises at least two apparatuses that perform short-range communication, and establishes communication connection between the apparatuses if values of distance between the apparatuses detected by both apparatuses are both within a threshold value on the basis of radio wave transmission and reception strength of a signal frame looped back between the apparatuses. The short-range communication system adopts, as authentication conditions to establish communication connection between the apparatuses, conditions that a signal type of a looped back signal frame, an apparatus identifier to identify an apparatus that has generated the signal frame, and an additional identifier added by the apparatus that have generated the signal frame are the same.
