PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily extract an area that satisfies the intention of a user.SOLUTION: A data generation device includes: a display section configured to display a region object whose contour is extracted from a processing object image by an image processing application; an operation section configured to accept a selection condition to select a region object intended by a user from among the region objects displayed by the display section; and a contour extraction section configured to extract the contour of the region object selected based on the selection condition accepted by the operation section. When the contour of the region object selected by the contour extraction section is extracted, the display section distinctively displays the selected region object and an unselected region object.
