PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control unit capable of improving the ride quality of a vehicle by appropriately damping vehicle vibration in a roll direction in response to amplitude while suppressing the degradation of the durability of a vehicle suspension.SOLUTION: An ECU 1 controlling a vehicle suspension 20 that includes shock absorbers 26 and an active stabilizer 22, comprises: a total-roll-damping-force arithmetic unit 53 computing a total roll damping force in a roll direction to be generated in a vehicle 10; and a damping-force allocation unit 54 adjusting the allocation of a shock absorber damping force and a stabilizer damping force on the basis of an absolute value of a roll angle of the vehicle 10. The damping-force allocation unit 54 sets the stabilizer damping force to the total roll damping force if the roll angle of the vehicle 10 is equal to or smaller than an absolute value of a low roll angle, and sets the shock absorber damping force to the total roll damping force if the roll angle of the vehicle 10 is equal to or greater than a high roll angle. |
