PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission device capable of establishing connection between optical transmission units even when the direction of a connector is changed.SOLUTION: An optical transmission device 100 includes; an optical connector connection part 140 to which a connector 320 of an optical cable 300 is attached; and a light emission part that emits a beam of light to transmit an optical signal via the optical cable 300, and refracts the optical signal which is radiated to a predetermined position of the connector 320 toward a light transmission line 310 of the optical cable 300 when the connector 320 is attached thereto in a first direction, and refracts the optical signal radiated in a predetermined area toward the light transmission line 310 of the optical cable 300 when the optical cable 300 is connected thereto in a second direction different from the first direction.
