A lighting fitting incorporating a number of fluorescent lamps and intended for use with a false ceiling enclosing ventilation ducts, comprises a substantially rectangular lamp enclosing structure and at least one enclosure for lamp controlling gear disposed along and attached to a side of the first structure and spaced therefrom to provide a rectangular vent for inlet or exhaust of air. In the form shown, the lamps are enclosed in a casing having sides 2, 3 with spaced dimples 7 and closed the bottom by a removable transparent or translucent cover. L-shaped members 10, 11 having dimples spaced to correspond to the dimples 7 enclose the control gear and are closed by hinged or detachable covers 12, 13. The dimples on the two enclosures are secured together and thereby long narrow vents 16, 17 are formed which are completed by plates leading to a rectangular duct for connection to the air supplying or exhausting ducts. |
