PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject information acquisition device in which the user's needs concerning the resolution of measurement can be responded in photoacoustic imaging.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device includes: multiple detection elements 300 for detecting an acoustic wave generated from a subject receiving light from a light source 100, and outputting an electric signal; a support 400 for supporting the multiple detection elements 300 so that the directional axes of at least a portion of the detection elements 300 may get together; an input unit 700 where measurement conditions are input by a user; a selection unit for selecting the pattern according to the input measurement conditions from multiple patterns comprising combinations of elements including at least two or more detection elements and forming high resolution areas of predetermined shapes, respectively; and a processing unit 600 for acquiring the characteristic information in the subject by using the electric signal outputted from the detection element included in the selected pattern. |
