<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a belt-like retardation film having a slow axis inclined with respect to a longitudinal direction. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing method according to the present invention includes: a pair of clip groups for holding both peripheral edges of a belt-like original film; and a heating and stretching device having a stretching zone. The pair of clip groups has the same travelling speed to each other when the clip groups hold the original film. The stretching zone includes: a first section in which a travelling speed difference is generated between both clip groups having travelled to the zone; a second section in which the travelling speed of both clip groups having travelled through the first section is maintained and the original film is obliquely stretched on the basis of the travelling speed difference; and a third section in which the travelling speed difference between both clip groups having travelled through the second section is eliminated and the travelling speeds of the pair of clip groups are made equal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
