<p>Provided is a corrosion resistant epoxy primer which is free from a chromate and is useful for prevent the corrosion and pitting corrosion of a metal substrate such as an aluminum alloy, a steel alloy, stainless steel, a zinc plated steel, etc. The corrosion resistant epoxy primer comprises 5-50 wt% of an epoxy resin; 2-20 wt% of a curing agent; and 25-60 wt% of a chromate-free corrosion resistant pigment which is selected from a heavy metal oxide, a heavy metal hydroxide and their mixture; and 10-50 wt% of a chromate-free corrosion resistant additive. Preferably the heavy metal is selected from the group consisting of Mo, Ce and their mixture; and the epoxy resin is selected from a nonvolatile dispersion of a diglycidyl ether bisphenol A modified epoxy resin having an epoxide equivalence (WPE) of 450-700 and a viscosity of 12,000-19,000 cps.</p> |
