PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having a broad exposure latitude and an improved gradient by preparing a silver halide emulsion layer mixing two kinds of the silver halide emulsions contg. different amounts of a nitrogen contg. heterocyclic compd. respectively. CONSTITUTION:The nitrogen contg. heterocyclic compd. is mixed to the silver halide emulsion prior to mixing the silver halide emulsion. The amount of the addition is selected so as to be different in two kinds of the silver halide emulsions. The amount of the addition is selected optionally according to a desired gradient. The adsorption amount of the coloring matter against said emulsion may be controlled freely by defining the adsorption amount of a spectral sensitizing coloring matter by adding previously the nitrogen contg. heterocyclic compd. which is adsorbed to the surface of the silver halide particles. Thus, the broad exposure latitude is obtd. by designing freely according to the desired gradient after the spectral sensitizing. And, the titled material which is sensitized spectrally and has the excellent gradient may be obtd. |
