[Also in Division G3] A synchronous electric clock motor and movement, Figs. 1 to 19 (not shown), is constructed with two spaced frame plates 31, 32 of ferrous material which are formed integrally with interdigitated poles 48, 49. These poles surround a magnetic rotor 51 journalled in the plates. An electromagnet 35 extends between the plates to produce an alternating field at the poles. Shafts such as 61, 66, 75 supported by the plates are driven by a reduction gear train and drive hour and minute shafts 84, 71. The bearings for these shafts are of plastics material formed on the plates by injection moulding. One of the bearings, 56, for the rotor shaft 52 is spring mounted. |
