<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for enabling a user to participate in musical performance at suitable timing when reproducing Karaoke accompaniment. <P>SOLUTION: A karaoke device 20 reads accompaniment sound data corresponding to music selected by a user from a storage device to reproduce the accompaniment sound data. While reproducing the accompaniment sound data, the Karaoke device 20 detects timing to show instruction information included in the accompaniment sound data, and instructs an electronic index device 30 to start a musical instrument application corresponding to the instruction information at the detected timing. The electronic index device 30 starts the musical instrument application according to an instruction from the Karaoke device 20, displays an image of a musical instrument on a touch screen and detects operation contents of the user on the touch screen, generates performance sound data on the basis of display contents and detection contents, and transmits the performance sound data to the Karaoke device 20.
