<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain airbag device preventing interference with a center pillar garnish when a curtain airbag is inflated and deployed, and improving deployment characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag body 3 is fitted to the front end 4a of an inflation part 4 in a manner of communicating therewith, of which the inflation part 4 is to be inflated and deployed beyond the upper edge 16a of the center pillar garnish 16. When the airbag 2 is inflated and deployed, the inflation part 4 is inflated and deployed first, and then the airbag body 3 positioned inside a vehicle is inflated and deployed. Therefore, the airbag 2 is not obstructed by the upper edge 16a of the center pillar garnish 16, and the airbag body 3 can be inflated and deployed downward along a side window of the vehicle like a curtain. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
