In recovering evaporated helium from cryogenic apparatus by collecting the helium in a low pressure holder (9) Fig. 2 (not shown) compressing it at (4) and then charging at high pressure into steel containers (6), the holder (9) e. g., a flexible bog within a metal box (8), the compressor (4) and the containers (6) are located in a common mobile frame. The bladder inlet pipe (11) is detachably coupled at points (14, 15) to the apparatus through filters (16, 17) and manually operated valves (18, 19) and at a point (12) to the vapour space of a liquid helium storage vessel. The inlet tube (11) is also connected to a safety diaphragm (23) and to a switch (22) which at a predetermined pressure starts the motor driving the compressor (4) the inlet (41) of which is connected by a pipe (27) to the outlet (26) of the bladder.</p> |
