PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for restoring a virtual apparatus.SOLUTION: A virtual apparatus management device includes a detecting part, a selecting part, and a requesting part. The detecting part detects a physical apparatus in which a failure has occurred. A selecting part specifies a plurality of physical apparatuses having a free space in a physical resource among physical apparatuses other than the physical apparatus in which the failure has occurred, and selects the physical resources of the plurality of specified physical apparatuses as a relocation destination of a virtual apparatus placed in the physical apparatus in which the failure has occurred. The requesting part requests each of the selected physical apparatuses for respective relocations of the virtual apparatus.
