PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to accurately determine whether to continue or discontinue passing a preceding vehicle from the relation between the preceding vehicle and an own vehicle if the preceding vehicle makes a lane change to a passing lane at a time of (or while) passing the preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: If an own vehicle A is to pass a preceding vehicle B, a drive assist control unit 11 determines whether a right turn signal lamp of a preceding vehicle B blinks on and off on the basis of an image from an on-vehicle camera 22 (S31); compares a predetermined waiting determination threshold T4' smaller than a discontinuation determination threshold T4 with a preceding vehicle lateral position L4 (S34) if determining that the right turn signal lamp blinks on and off; and sets a discontinuation determination flag F (F←1, S37) because of the high probability that the preceding vehicle B moves to a passing lane and discontinues a passing control at early timing if the preceding vehicle lateral position L4 exceeds the waiting determination threshold T4' (T4>T4').
