PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strontium adsorbent having high adsorption capacity of radioactive strontium, capable of decontaminating effectively contaminated water, soil or the like.SOLUTION: A strontium adsorbent including an iron oxide containing silicon has a sufficient adsorption capacity even in the presence of impurity ion, and can be produced by neutralizing an iron compound and a silicon compound in medium liquid followed by oxidation thereof. The strontium adsorbent can be obtained inexpensively by using sulfuric acid containing iron compound by-produced in a production process of sulfuric acid titanium oxide.
