PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining an inserted position of a foreign DNA fragment having been inserted into a genome DNA.SOLUTION: The method for determining an inserted position of a foreign DNA in a genome DNA having the foreign DNA inserted thereinto includes the following steps (a)-(c):(a) determining sequences from their both ends of each fragment of the whole genome DNA having been fragmented, (b) extracting sequences specific to the foreign DNA from the sequences determined in the step (a), (c) extracting the other end sequences which are paired with the respective sequences included in a group of the sequences extracted in the step (b), (d) mapping a group of the sequences extracted in the step (c), for sequences which are the foreign DNA sequences but different from "the sequences specific to the foreign DNA" of the (b), and extracting sequences which are not mapped, and (e) performing homology retrieval for a group of the sequences extracted in the step (d) relative to genomic DNA sequences and identifying the position on which there is homology with the sequences of the group of the extracted sequences on the genome DNA sequences. |
