PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a simpler structure or operation in a speed governor in which detection of overspeed when a car is ascending and detection of overspeed when the car is descending are performed by separate detection mechanism bodies.SOLUTION: A speed governor (100) of the embodiment includes: a sheave (101) around which a governor rope for moving with an elevator car is wound and which rotates by the movement of this governor rope; a first detection mechanism body (110) for detecting first overspeed; a second detection mechanism (120) for detecting second overspeed; and a transmission mechanism (106) configured in such a manner that, when the sheave rotates normally, the rotation of the sheave is transmitted to the first detection mechanism but not transmitted to the second detection mechanism, and when the sheave rotates reversely, the rotation of the sheave is transmitted to the second detection mechanism but not transmitted to the first detection mechanism. |
