An electronic compass device for a vehicle is provided at the attachment position of a rearview mirror in a vehicle interior, is connected to a coupling body disposed on a vehicle windshield in parallel with the center line of the vehicle, and displays a compass calibration screen in accordance with a signal received from a portable electronic compass calibration device. The portable electronic compass calibration device creates calibration information using the compass calibration screen, a photographed image of the connecting body, and the electronic compass bearing at the time of the photographing and transmits the calibration information to the vehicle electronic compass device. The vehicle electronic compass device corrects the vehicle travel direction bearing on the basis of the received calibration information.
