Provided is a lawn mower that can reliably cut along the borderline between an area of lawn that a user wants to cut and an area of lawn that the user does not want to cut, without reducing the travel speed of the lawn mower. A lawn mower (1) that comprises a reel-type cutting blade (19), a fixed blade (20) that is provided so as to approach the cutting blade (19), a hydraulic motor (24) that provides output for rotating the cutting blade (19) around a horizontal axis, and a direction-switching valve (27) that is for controlling the hydraulic motor (24). The direction-switching valve (27) controls the flow of fluid inside the hydraulic motor (24) so as to rotate the cutting blade (19) when the cutting blade (19) is in a rotating state and reverses the flow of fluid inside the hydraulic motor (24) when stopping the cutting blade (19). |
