<p>In alternative embodiments, the invention provides pharmaceutical compositions, formulations, kits and other products of manufacture, and methods, for treating, ameliorating (e.g., reducing the severity of, slowing the progress of) or preventing infections, comprising local administration of drugs via a hydrogel component or material, wherein optionally amount or concentration of drugs in the hydrogel component or material is a "very high" or an "ultra-high" dose of drugs. In alternative embodiments, the products of manufacture, devices, kits, and compositions, and methods as provided herein are antimicrobial and target infections caused, e.g., by multiple drug resistance organisms (MDROs), or a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSAs), or a biofilm. In alternative embodiments, skin, skin structure or bone infections are treated, ameliorated or prevented by products of manufacture, devices, kits, and compositions, and methods as provided herein.</p> |
