The present invention provides a touch signal detection apparatus and a touch signal detection method related to a capacitive touch input device for a touch input means such as fingers or means having conductive characteristic. According to the present invention, one touch detection apparatus can be widely used for touch detection sensors having different arrangements by using re-map technology. In addition, the touch detection apparatus and the touch detection method can reduce costs by using the identical touch detection apparatus, without producing an additional touch detection apparatus for a display device including touch detection sensors having different arrangements. The touch signal detection apparatus detects whether or not a touch pad including a plurality of touch detection sensors arranged in the form of a matrix is touched. The touch signal detection apparatus includes: a memory unit receiving and storing touch signals through a plurality of touch signal lines connected to the touch detection sensors of each column and delivering the touch signals generated in the touch detection sensors, wherein a storage array of the memory unit is different from the arrangement of the touch detection sensors; and a touch detection unit detecting the touch signals stored in the memory unit and determining whether or not a touch occurs in the touch pad. The touch signal detection apparatus performs a re-mapping process to match the touch signals stored in the memory unit with the arrangement of the touch detection sensors. |
