Disclosed are a method for correcting an image of a fisheye lens, and an apparatus thereof. The method for correcting an image of a fisheye lens comprises the following steps: (a) acquiring an image of a fisheye lens photographed through a fisheye lens; (b) correcting geometric distortion on the image of the fisheye lens step by step by applying an expansion ratio based on an orthogonal projection model; and (c) correcting a high frequency component of the image corrected in a previous step with a patch unit in the image of the fisheye lens in which the geometric distortion is corrected.
