PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slow stopping device for a passenger conveyor which can alleviate an impact which occurs on a foot step when a brake is operated.SOLUTION: A slow stopping device for a passenger conveyor includes: a caliper 14 which is provided between a pair of upper sprockets 4, which is fixed to a main spindle 9 on an inner side with respect to a main sprocket 3 and a ratchet wheel 5, and in which a hydraulic fluid is filled; a piston 15 which is provided at an end of the caliper 14, and is pushed from an inside to an outside of the caliper 14 by the hydraulic fluid 17; and a brake pad 16 which faces lateral faces of the pair of upper sprockets 4, and when a driving chain 8 is broken, is pressed against the lateral faces of the pair of upper sprockets 4 by the piston 15 before a foot step 11, which is moved by rotation of the upper sprockets 4, stops movement thereof by stop of rotation of the ratchet wheel 5. |
