A method for effecting neuromuscular mechanisms for treatment of specific non-restless leg syndrome, non-restless arms, and non-foot and leg cramps diseases, conditions, and/or illnesses utilizes a device for applying positive pressure to specific areas of the foot. Slight variations to the positioning and/or patient application of the device may be adopted to increase benefits for specific diseases, conditions, or illnesses. Such variations can include frequency or time intervals of use and variations in pressure and positioning of pressure. |

1. A method for effecting neuromuscular mechanisms for treatment of specific non-restless leg syndrome, non-restless arms, and non-foot and leg cramps diseases, conditions, and illnesses, the method comprising:
wrapping a device around a foot of an individual so that pressure can be applied to specific areas on a sole of the foot, the device having a flexible cloth wrap that includes a foot securing portion joined by a fold to a foot engaging portion, the foot securing portion and the foot engaging portion including a continuous outer surface and an opposite continuous inner surface, the foot engaging portion including a cavity, a multi-layered pad disposed within the cavity, the multi-layered pad having a base portion and an upraised portion disposed on the base portion, the upraised portion having a leg and a crosspiece, wherein the leg and the crosspiece are at a substantially perpendicular angle, the multi-layered pad being capable of applying pressure to specific areas on the sole of the foot, and securement means extending along the continuous outer surface of the foot engaging portion and the foot securing portion for securing the foot engaging portion contiguous to the sole of the foot and the foot securing portion about the upper side of the foot; applying pressure with the multi-layered pad of the device to specific areas on the sole of the foot, exerting pressure with the leg of the upraised portion positioned primarily against the flexor hallucis brevis muscle of the foot, exerting pressure with the crosspiece of the upraised portion primarily against the abductor hallucis muscle of the foot; and the treatment of specific diseases, conditions, and illnesses including the treatment of at least one of Anxiety Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Augmentation and Rebound from Dopamine Agonist Therapy, Back Pain and Chronic Back Pain, Dementia, Depression, Dyskinesia, Dystonia, Fibromyalgia, Foot Pain, Inherited Neuropsychiatric Disorder, Mental Depressive Disorder, Metatarsalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscle Cramp Disorder, Muscular Dystrophy, Nocturnal Foot and Leg Cramps, Neuroma, Morton's Neuroma, Plantar Neuroma, Traumatic Neuroma, Parkinson's Disease, Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, Peripheral Nerve Disorder, Plantar Fasciitis, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Radiculopathy, Sacroiliac Pain, and Tourette Syndrome. |
