PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive carbon guided to a power storage device having high energy density.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a conductive carbon which is produced by oxidation treatment on a carbon raw material having voids and a value of a ratio S1/S2 between a specific surface area S1 of a micro hole measured by an MP method and has a diameter of 2 nm or less and a specific surface area S2 of a meso hole and macro hole measured by a BJH method and have a diameter of 2 nm-200 nm is 1.5 or more. Furthermore, disclosed is a method of producing a high energy density electrode material in which, in the manufacturing of an electrode of a power storage device, when rolling treatment is applied to an active material layer containing an active material particle formed on a current collector and the conductive carbon, the conductive carbon spreads like paste to be densified, active material particles approach to each other, the conductive carbon is stressed out into a gap part formed between the active material particles adjacent to each other and filled therein, and, as a result, the amount of active materials per unit volume in the electrode obtained after rolling treatment is increased and electrode density increases. |
