Xanthine derivatives of general formula (I), in which particular substituents have the meaning defined in claims, the tautomers, stereoisomers, mixtures, prodrugs and salts thereof having inhibitory effect on the activity of the dipeptidylpeptidase-IV enzyme (DPP-IV). Described is also a method for the production thereof, pharmaceutical formulation containing thereof and their use in the manufacture of medicaments for treating type I and type II diabetes mellitus, arthritis, adiposis, allograft transplantation and osteoporosis caused by calcitonin. |
