PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door opening and closing mechanism and an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing failures including one that a main body connector is fitted onto a door connector in a state in which insufficient pressing of an interlock switch occurs and one that the interlock switch is pressed in a state in which the main body connector is not sufficiently fitted onto the door connector.SOLUTION: After a protruding portion 31a is engaged with a lever member 55, the lever member 55 presses a first main body holding member 53 toward a door 30, and a main body connector 52 is fitted onto a door connector 32 in an interlocked manner with an operation of closing the door 30, the engagement of the protruding portion 31a with the lever member 55 is cancelled. In a state in which the first main body holding member 53 is urged toward an apparatus main body 50 by a first tensile spring 57 without displacing a second main body holding member 54 in an open/close direction, the protruding portion 31a presses a switch portion 51a of an interlock switch 51. |
