<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the pressure of fluid generated in a bearing clearance to thereby increase a load capacity by a foil bearing. <P>SOLUTION: A free end 31 of a leaf foil (leaf 30) is alternately provided with a plurality of notches 31a and a plurality of lands 31b consecutive to bearing surfaces 33. The fluid is made to flow through the notches 31a, so that the fluid in a large clearance part T2 of a thrust bearing clearance T is made to flow dynamically, thereby increasing the fluid sent to a small clearance part T1 and increasing the pressure of the fluid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
