[Class 34 (ii)] Filter press cakes, pigments, powders &c. are dried on trays in wagons or containers mounted to rotate on a vertical axis in a stationary chamber a through which hot air is circulated by fans a<3> over heating coils. Moist air is exhausted by fans a<4> at a<6>, and fresh air is drawn in at a<5>. Wheeled loaded trucks are run on to rails b<2> on circular revoluble turntables b with inter - engaging toothed edges b<1> so that when one is driven all are slowly rotated in the chamber. The trucks c are circular and comprise upper and lower hoops c', c<4> with four spokes and angle iron uprights c<3> carrying horizontal brackets c' supporting quadrant shaped shelves. |
