PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for controlling a variable pitch propeller capable of achieving energy-saving at a high level as compared with conventional methods, and to provide a ship with the variable pitch propeller control device mounted thereon.SOLUTION: The method and device include a control means 40 for controlling a main engine 50 and a variable pitch propeller 60 driven by the main engine 50 on the basis of fuel consumption amount characteristics determined by a fuel consumption amount characteristic control part 43, while considering main engine fuel consumption rate characteristics stored in a main engine fuel consumption rate characteristic memory 41 and propeller efficiency characteristics of the variable pitch propeller 60 stored in a propeller efficiency characteristic memory 42. |
