In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a portable electronic device (100), comprising: a printed circuit board "PCB" (204); a microphone (130) attached to the PCB (204) and defining an aperture (302) therein; a frame (210) enclosing the microphone (130) and PCB (204) and defining an opening (304) therein; a cap (222) attached to the frame (210) and defining an aperture (306) therein; and a microphone boot (300) received in the opening (304) in the frame (210) and defining an acoustic channel (301) between the aperture (302) in the microphone (130) and the aperture (306) in the cap (222).</p> |
