Photographic prints are given a protective coating on one or both sides comprising a copolymer of 80-92% vinyl chloride, 7. 5-19. 5% vinyl acetate and 0. 5-5% vinyl alcohol or an unsaturated aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or anhydride such as maleic acid or anhydride. The coating may contain a phthalic acid ester as plasticizer,finely divided silica, titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide or aluminium phosphate as a melting agent, and an U.V. absorbing compound (for example those described in Specifications 926,454 and 948,627) such as 2, 4<SP>1</SP>-dihydroxy-3<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>1</SP>-di-t-butyl-benzophenone.</p> |
