The hair straightener (10) has two arms (11,12) which are pivotally mounted to each other by a hinge (13). A mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic shock absorber (16) is coupled between the two arms to reduce an impact generated when the two arms are collided with each other. The heating plates (14,15) are secured to the two arms to produce heat for smoothening of hair. |
