Tyre building drum (1) comprising a central shaft (4), a threaded spindle (7) arranged on the shaft, two drum halves (5,6). On either side of the central drum section a driving nut (8) is coupled to the spindle. Each nut (8) is fixedly connected to the relative drum half (5,6) through a connecting element (9). Each drum half (5,6) is provided with a folding arm unit (11) comprising folding arms (12), and with a bead ring core clamping unit (15), for supporting and clamping a bead ring core (16). The bead ring core clamping unit (15) is arranged on a cylindrical part (17), on which there is provided a cylinder slot (18) for accommodating said connecting element (9) and with a locking mechanism (19). The locking mechanism (19) can be brought into and out of engagement with the drum shaft (4). |
