The present invention relates to a method for producing a licorice extract containing glycyrrhizinic acid and liquiritin. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for producing a licorice extract, which contains glycyrrhizinic acid and liquiritin and has excellent antioxidant activity, including the steps of: (a) extracting small branches of licorice with 50-80% spirit for 1-5 hours; (b) concentrating the extract; and (c) spraying and drying the concentrated product after adding an excipient to the concentrated product. According to the method for producing the licorice extract, the licorice extract has a low content of glycyrrhizinic acid, which may cause side effects, and a high content of liquiritin.
