[Also in Division F2] In a motor vehicle window operating mechanism, a pinion 18, driven by an electric motor 17, meshes a toothed sector 19 carrying an arm 21, and the material of the pinion 18 is flexible so that the teeth are able to deflect, as shown in Fig. 3, to allow relative slipping above a predetermined load. Preferably the material of the pinion 18 is polyurethane, and that of the sector 19 is nylon. The arm 21 carries a pin 22 which engages a slot 16 in a plate 15 secured to a support 12 for a window 11 which is slidable between guides 13, 14.</p> |
