This storage system is composed of a first storage device and a second storage device which each have one or more volumes, and a third storage device which is accessible by the first storage device and the second storage device. The storage system operates so as to duplicate data written from a host into a volume within the first or second storage device in a volume within the second or first storage device. Further, the first storage device and the second storage device regularly write health check information into the third storage device. When the first storage device has received a write request from the host but cannot duplicate write data in the second storage device, the first storage device reads out the health check information written into the third storage device, confirms that the volume of the second storage device is I/O disabled, and thereafter resumes processing related to the write request from the host. |
