<p>A butterfly valve for high temperature applications comprises a valve spindle (10, Fig. 2) having first and second shafts 12, 22 at opposite ends. Respective first and second bushings 30, 40 receive the first and second shafts 12, 22. A valve seat 4 receives a valve disc 6 and has a first bore 3 for receiving the first bushing 30 and a second bore 7 for receiving the second bushing 40. The first bushing 30 has a partially curved seat 32 and the spindle has a partially curved mating shoulder 14. The second shaft 22 of the spindle has a barrel-shaped outer surface having a diameter that is smaller at its two ends (23, 24, Fig. 2) than the diameter between the two ends. The second bushing 40 has a generally cylindrical inner bore 43 receiving the widest diameter of the second shaft 22. Heat dissipation fins 42 are provided.</p> |
