摘要 The present invention relates to a catalyst capable of effectively oxidizing methane (CH_4) which plentifully contained in exhaust gas emitted from a car, a ship, etc. comprising a natural gas engine, a method for manufacturing the catalyst, and a method for purifying exhaust gas using the catalyst. The catalyst provided by the present invention contains cobalt oxide and nickel oxide, and a molar ratio between cobalt in the cobalt oxide and nickel in the nickel oxide (Co:Ni) is 10:1 to 1:10. The method for manufacturing the catalyst comprises processes of mixing a cobalt oxide precursor and a nickel oxide precursor to meet the range of the above molar ratio, then drying and plasticizing the mixture at a certain temperature for a certain period of time. The catalyst for purification of exhaust gas provided by the present invention can oxidize methane which is plentifully contained in the exhaust gas emitted from a natural gas engine with high efficiency. In addition, the catalyst for purification of exhaust gas provided by the present invention can be manufactured at low costs without using expensive noble metals, thereby being practically applicable in commercially various fields.
