GEAR CROWNING METHOD

This gear crowning method includes: an inverted crown dressing process wherein a first inverted crown (6b) and a second inverted crown (6c) are formed side by side on a honing stone (6) by means of a double dressing gear (5) which is formed by connecting a first dressing gear (3) having the same crown shape as a first crown (1) and a second dressing gear (4) having the same crown shape as a second crown (2); and a crowning process wherein the first inverted crown (6b) and second inverted crown (6c) are transcribed onto a gear (10) using the honing stone (6), thereby forming the first crown (1) and the second crown (2) side by side. With this method, the first crown and the second crown can be formed with high accuracy along the tooth trace direction of each tooth surface, and the man-hours for machining can be reduced.
