<p>The invention relates to a neck rest to be mounted on the side-members supporting the head-rest which is attached to a motor-vehicle seat, intended to be used for supporting drivers' or passengers' neck, without negative consequences in case of rear-end impacts. According to the invention, the neck rest consists of a cushion (1) made of low-density sponge, covered with a sheath (2) made of textile material or natural or synthetic leather, the cushion (1) having a first central zone (1a) which has the approximate shape of a trapezoidal prism, the free end of which has a semi-round profile (1c) confined by some eccentric limiters (1d), the central zone (1a) being continued by a second zone (1b) which is rectangular and rounded at the free end where a cylindrical piece (3) is inserted, this piece being made of a rigid plastic provided in the transverse plane with a plurality of semi-cuts (a), two end limiters (4) being introduced at the free ends of the cylindrical piece (3), wherethrough some T-shaped fastening pieces (5) are introduced into the cylindrical piece (3) to permit, by rotation in the vertical plane, the stiffening of the cushion (1) onto the head-rest supporting side members, in the position desired by the user.</p> |
