<p>Operating a communication network and a network component for providing mobile subscribers with both local services of a local communication network and public services of a public radio access network( RAN) using a private cell or group of private cells connected to a Mobile Network Operator' RAN. According to the method, a network component assumes control of a broadcast channel of a private cell, such as a femto-cell or pico-cell. The network component controls the set up of dedicated channels on the private cell. The network component checks whether a communication service request is to or from a registered user of the local communication network and if the communication service request is to or from a registered user of the local communication network and there are no available channels for routing the communication service request, the network component selects a communication channel currently in use by a non-registered user, disconnects the communication channel of the non-registered user and fulfills the communication service request of the registered user over that communication channel. In this way, the method allows unregistered users to use the network but at the same time ensures that registered users are provided with a guaranteed level of service. In one embodiment a private mobile network module includes a private branch exchange (PBX) interface component.</p> |
