According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for reducing standby power of elevators comprises: a running condition average value calculation process of calculating total average hall call waiting time and a total average load weight for entire elevators; a fuzzy logic running elevator number calculation process of applying the total average hall call waiting time and the total average load weight to fuzzy logic to calculate a number of fuzzy logic running elevators; a running weight extraction process of extracting a running weight per unit time for each prescribed week day; a process of calculating a number of fuzzy logic running elevators per unit time for each week day by summing the number of fuzzy logic running elevators for each time for each week day and the running weight per unit time for each week day; and a process of running only a number of elevators equal to the number of fuzzy logic running elevators per unit time for each week day, and blocking standby power of the remaining elevators.
