<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which exhibits high charge injection/transport performance, shows little change in driving voltage over time, and has a long service life, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same, a lighting device, and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises a plurality of organic compound layers which are held between an anode and a cathode and include a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, and an electron transport layer.
