摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque transmission device which can accurately transmit torque necessary for generating a desired axial force.SOLUTION: An axial force resultant type torque transmission device has a third rotatable member 7 which is in a constraint state, and an input shaft 2 and an output shaft 3 which can rotate with respect to the third rotatable member. An accommodation shaft part 11 of the output shaft 3 is accommodated in an accommodation hole 9 of a cylindrical cage 10 of the input shaft 2. Engagement pieces 17 are fit into a plurality of pieces of lock holes 19 which are formed at an external peripheral wall 12 of the cylindrical cage 10 in a circumferential direction, and the engagement pieces 17 are pressed against an external peripheral engagement part 21 of a transmission shaft part 15 possessed by the accommodation shaft part via energization means. The energization means 20 has left and right outer support rings 25, 25 which elastically press the engagement pieces 17 against the external peripheral engagement part 21. The engagement pieces 17 can revolve and rotate with respect to the outer support ring 25 by the rotation of the input shaft 2. Insertion shaft parts 16, 16 at both sides of the transmission shaft part 15 are loosely inserted into insertion holes 30 of left and right inner support rings 29, 29, and a thrust bearing 35 is interposed between the inner support ring 29 and a receiving part 32 which faces the inner support ring.
