The disclosure relates to a sustainable method for treating and maintaining a body of water affected by bacteria and microalgae at low cost by filtering a small fraction of the total volume of the body of water, the method comprising collecting water, storing said water, limiting the density of bathers, within periods of 7 days, and for water temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius, maintaining said waters ORP of at least 500 mV for a minimum period of 1 hour for each degree Celsius of water temperature, by adding disinfectant agents to the water, suctioning a portion of said water containing settled particles produced by the previous processes with a mobile suction means to prevent the thickness of settled material from exceeding an average of 3 mm, filtering the water and returning the filtered water. The disclosed system filters only a small fraction of the total water volume, up to 200 times less per day than the flow filtered by conventional swimming pool filtration systems. The disclosed methods and system also use less chemicals than conventional swimming pool water treatment systems.
|
