PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection image display device that features increased light utilization efficiency and reduced cost and size.SOLUTION: A first light source that emits first color light and a second light source that emits second color light each have a reflective plate disposed on a back face thereof, and a 1/4 wavelength plate disposed on an emission side thereof. A polarizing beam splitter is provided at a position where the two color light beams are incident from directions that are perpendicular to each other. A reflective plate is disposed on a side in one of two output directions of the polarizing beam splitter, and an integrator optical system is disposed on a side in the other output direction. |
