A method for displaying information using a display to at least partially compensate for vision impairment of a user, the display having a front display plane and a back display plane, the method comprising: for each of a plurality of image elements of an image, displaying a respective version of the image element on each of the front display plane and the back display plane based on a visual adjustment factor such that the respective versions of the image element differ in at least one of line weight and transparency and have relative scaling with respect to one another so that: the respective versions of the image element appear of same size but offset by a distance equal to a focal length correction when viewed from a viewing distance; and one of the respective versions of the image element causes the user's eyes to focus so that the other respective version of the image element is perceived by the user's eyes as being focused in a manner mimicking the refractive power of a corrective lens.
